Moving Being is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.), which is a form of social enterprise. C.I.C.s are different to other businesses because their primary purpose is to provide benefits to the community, rather than to the individuals who own, run or work in them. Rather than thinking in terms of CICs being non-profit making, they could be thought of as making profits for their community purposes.

Moving Being C.I.C. was founded in 2022 by Didier Rochard and Sarah Rennix (company number 13841377).

Below is our community Interest Declaration which is publicly available via the C.I.C. Regulator. The statement is presented here in the spirit of openness for all our stakeholders. This statement and the activities list below will inform the development and direction of the company, to ensure public benefit.

The company’s activities will provide benefit to people of all ages and backgrounds who are suffering from loneliness, isolation or poor wellbeing due to lack of opportunity for interaction and community engagement. The company will use arts, nature, and heritage-based interventions to create and/or enhance communities and to promote a sense of individual belonging and collaboration. The company will provide opportunities for social engagement whilst undertaking activities that give back to the community and encourage intergenerational collaboration. Our activities will include opportunities to develop skills, explore creativity, connect, learn, participate and perform.
